Your Guide to Protecting Your Ideas and Brands
Change of Owner name
Article 11 of the Afghanistan Trademark Registration Law has regulated all changes which can take place in a registered trademark as follows:
“Where changes are made to a registered trademark, or to the goods, products, or services for which the trademark has been registered, such changes shall be registered separately in the Central Registration Office, otherwise they shall not be valid.”
The requirement for the recordal of the above changes is a power of attorney duly legalized up to the Afghanistan Consulate and the document showing the changes which have been issued by the competent local authority, and the original registration certificate or last renewal certificate. We will ask for the original certificate from our client if the IP office does not issue a new Recordal certificate to endorse the concerned recordal.
